The English LLM and PhD postgraduate programs and Summer Law Program at China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) in Beijing are programs open exclusively to international students focusing on China’s rapidly developing domestic and international law.

Established in 1952, CUPL, the leading law school in China, has played, and continues to play, a key part in the formation of China’s legal system: from the drafting of the 1954 Constitution of the People’s republic of China, to the promulgation of the Anti-Secession Law and the enactment and implementation of almost every major law of the Republic.

Among the faculty are leading draftsmen of current Chinese laws, top Chinese scholars who were trained in China and the West, government officials, and practitioners in leading Beijing law firms. Many of the Chinese faculty are instrumental in drafting the laws required for the newly emerging market economy.

International students can also study Mandarin Chinese and have the opportunity to take work experience.
